Sokrat Saydahmat hosted a meshrep on July 24 at the McLean Government Center in Mclean, Virginia. More than 50 guests from the Washington Metro area attended the meshrep. The famous musician Sultan Mehmet entertained guests with traditional Uighur music and songs. Meshrep also discussed how to more effectively perserve Uighur culture, improve meshrep.com, increase attendance of Umit Uighur School, and other community issues. All attendees had a wonderful, relaxing night after a week of hard work.

Meshrep made the decision to host a Summer Picnic 2004 in Virginia. All members of the Uighur community are welcome to attend the next meshrep. Two meshrep members will be responsible for hosting the event. The exact date of Summer Picnic 2004 will be announced on www.meshrep.com, please make sure to 'tune in'.

Meshrep made the decision to hold future meshreps from 11am - 4pm on Saturdays instead of at night. This decision was made by an overwhelming majority (52 to 1) during a vote held at the last meshrep.

Meshrep folks discussed opening up an Uighur Music class in Virginia; Sultan aka will be teaching children how to play Uighur musical instruments such as Duttar, Ravap and Tenbur.
